This Weekend in Downtown: July 20th

What a thrilling week in downtown it's been!  This summer has been bursting with activities throughout merchant stores and restaurants.  The midsummer heat has awakened a smorgasbord of outdoor concerts, work outs, markets and more!  It can be easy to lose track of all that's offered or available, so read below, choose your favorite event(s) and we'll see you there.

If you're going to spend your summer days sweating, it might as well be in honor of a rewarding workout! Thursday morning will be back to hosting Yoga on the Creek by the Carroll Creek Amphitheater.  From 7-8am Sol Yoga will guide your through a traditional morning and refreshment and health.  Grab your mat, pick up a friend, and start your day with this free event for all ages.  

After yoga kick started your work day, treat yourself to your favorite drink from Spin the Bottle or Brewer's Alley as you munch on fixings from Crissafulli's Cheese Shop.  You know what that power combination sets the stage for, Alive @ Five! This week we have Tin Can Fish Band providing folk rock for our crowds.  Starting at 5pm for 21+ patrons and continuing on until 8pm.  

We can't wait to see you on the Creek! Alive @ Five 2017 is a summer-long fundraiser for Downtown Frederick Partnership, presented by DARCARS Toyota of Frederick. These events are made possible by a wonderful team of sponsors. All proceeds from Alive @ Five are reinvested into the downtown community. Ready to cultivate your inner peace once again? Friday morning provides another opportunity for Yoga on the Creek, this time with Ananda Shala! Also at 7am at the Carroll Creek Amphitheater, come enjoy this free event that welcomes all ages.

Can't make Yoga? Make the most of your lunch hour each third Friday before Movie Night on the Creek! Kick start your weekend with free Boot Camp on the Creek led by Caryn Dayoff and Lauren Scholen.  Meet in the Amphitheater and get ready for a workout! No registration required.

Looking for a place to stretch your wings and share your musical talent? Come to Sky Stage for Open Mic Night hosted by FAME (Frederick Acoustic Music Enterprise). Whether you are a pro or a novice, this is a welcoming environment for you collaborate, build your skills, and get to know other local artists. 

Get your best accent ready for Friday evening so you can gather your crew and hoist the sails, because our second Movie Night is here! Join us for a FREE showing of Pirates of the Caribbean: The Curse of the Black Pearl. Gates open at 8pm and the show starts at 9 in Carroll Creek Amphitheater.

Come thirsty and bring your ID! Beer, wine and snacks will be available for purchase. All ages are welcome and closed captioning is provided. Tally ho!

Saturday morning the MET offers showings of Junie B Jones at 10:30am and 2:30pm. "Laugh yourself silly with this musical version of the bestselling books by Barbara Park. Meet Junie B., the world’s funniest first grader, and her classmates who help her get into all kinds of trouble. Family-friendly show. Tickets: Adult $12 • Children $10"

After Junie B Jones, treat the family to italian ice from Frederick Fudge and Ice Cream as they once again host Trellis Takeout!  

In need of an evening out?  Live music and an assortment of different foods all come alive Saturday evening. 

McClintock Distilling will be hosting Jason & Michelle of One Blue Night from 4-6pm for a live musical performance.  

If you haven't tried them yet, then now is the time to head to Attaboy Beer! They'll be hosting a taco truck from 1-9pm at 400 Sagner Ave.  

Vini Culture provides live music that begins at 8pm and continues until 11pm.

If your refrigerator is starting to look empty, join locals for the Frederick City Market where you can purchase local flowers, meat, vegetables, breads, and much more. Starting at 9am and continuing on until 1pm, there's even options for a delicious, locally produced lunch!
