This Week in Downtown: First Saturday + 4th of July

Downtown Frederick is a special place during the summer! With its abundance of activity and opportunity, there's never a lack of things to do.

Last week we broke our Alive @ Five record! 13 years of faithful attendance, wonderful performers, and fantastic volunteers lead us to receiving over 1,200 guests! There was dancing, singing, great food and cold drinks, making for a wonderful evening of community on the creek. So keep the good times rolling this week and check out all there is to see and do in Downtown Frederick!

Don't miss Yoga on the Creek, 7am every Thursday with Sol Yoga at the Carroll Creek Amphitheater. Embrace your body and kick start your weekend with a positive morning work out under the sky!

Needing to stock your kitchen before the July 4th weekend? Walk through the Everedy Square & Shab Row Farmer's Market! From 3-6pm every Thursday pick up produce from local farmers and enjoy delectable goodies!

This week during Alive @ Five, enjoy some jazz and funk with the musical stylings of Ginada PiƱata! Their influences of jazz, funk, rock, fusion, trance and drum & bass blend together to create an organic vibe that continually entertains and excites audiences.

Alive @ Five  is a summer-long fundraiser for Downtown Frederick Partnership, presented by DARCARS Toyota of Frederick. The party starts at 5pm and continues until 8pm every Thursday at Carroll Creek Amphitheater! 21+ only and a $5 cover at the gate. All proceeds from Alive @ Five are reinvested into the Downtown Frederick community, so grab some wine, enjoy a beer, and snack on wonderful finger foods while you rock out to live music by the creek!

Ready for the holiday weekend? Embrace the festivities while attending Landless Theater's production of 1776: The Musical, hosted by the Weinberg Center. Watch the days leading up to the signing of the Declaration of Independence, brought to life as local Fredericktonians make their stage debut!

After sleeping in Saturday morning, wake up to the bustling streets of Downtown Frederick's July First Saturday, presented by Frederick County Bank! Hop on the free trolley to see what's going on around town, or just enjoy the relaxing ride. Guests are encouraged to hop on and off at their convenience, with five stops throughout downtown. So watch out for the white trolley and hitch a free ride for First Saturday!

In addition to late-night shopping and local dining, enjoy the ambiance of downtown with live musicians and local artists lining the streets. Downtown businesses will be hosting special First Saturday events, and be on the look out for adoptable doggies as you wander around downtown. With fido by your side, gather at the amphitheater for a special Pooch Parade down Carroll Creek, which will start strutting its stuff toward Market St at 8pm!

As always, First Saturday musicians will be throughout downtown, including Seth Pitt at The MuseThe Luau Cinders & Killers from Space Concert at Sky Stage, as well as Music at Vini Culture.

While you're out enjoying First Saturday, remember to stop by Trellis Takeout at the entrance to Carroll Creek on S Market St. The North Market Pop Shop along with Frederick Fudge & Ice Cream will be serving up delectable treats on both Saturday and Sunday this weekend!

Nothing says summertime like a whiskey infused BBQ! McClintock Distillery will be hosting a Pig Roast on Saturday from 12-8pm. Come explore their spacious property while enjoying samplings of a pig that was fed whiskey mash its whole life. They will also provide tastings and games for guests to partake in!

Speaking of local spirits, Tenth Ward Distillery is celebrating their 1 year anniversary! From 12-8pm on Saturday, you can enjoy free samples, specialty drinks, discount on merchandise, a rum release and much more. Come join in the festivities while learning about Frederick history.
