Eat, Shop and Be Merry in Downtown Frederick this Holiday Season

Head Downtown this weekend to participate in the family-friendly Reindeer Run Holiday Scavenger Hunt, happening throughout Downtown Frederick! The evening is part of the Partnership’s Eat, Shop & Be Merry First Saturday events, featuring extended shopping hours until 9pm, live music and entertainment throughout Downtown, make your own s’mores stations, and holiday decorations for everyone to enjoy.

The Reindeer Run is a self-guided, self-paced scavenger hunt that will take you on different stops throughout Downtown. You can start as early as 3PM and finish as late as 9PM. Once you've completed all of your clues, drop off your completed sheet at the Downtown Frederick Partnership kiosk, located at the intersection of Church and Market Streets.

Scavenger hunt clues will be available by December 17. Download a clue sheet from downtownfrederick.org or pick one up from the Partnership kiosk any time after 3PM on December 17.

While you’re here, remember to help children write a Letter to Santa and drop it off at one of the designated mailboxes throughout Downtown (drop-off locations include Century 21 Redwood, Crisafulli’s Cheese Shop, Dancing Bear Toys, Ec’clectibles, Evangelical Lutheran Church, Lebherz Oil & Vinegar Emporium and Quality Shoe Service). Be sure to drop your letters off by December 17 (with your name and address included) to receive a response from Santa himself!

Have you voted in the Holiday Decorating Contest yet? Enjoy the festive lights and d├ęcor throughout Downtown, then head to the Partnership’s “Holiday Decorating Contest” Facebook album and give your favorite decorations a “Like.” The photo with the most Likes by December 21 will win our coveted People’s Choice award.

Keep in mind that parking is free this holiday season. Available every weekend from 8am Saturday until 6am Monday, now until New Year’s Day, as well as on Friday, December 23.

Eat, Shop & Be Merry in Downtown Frederick is continuing for the rest of the month! There is still a Last-Minute Downtown Dash on Saturday, December 24 for any last minute gifts you might need. More than seventy Downtown businesses will be open on December 24, with many open from at least 10AM until 3PM. Individual store hours may vary. Please contact your favorite store(s) if you have questions about their hours.
