Downtown Frederick Date Night

Hello February!

'Tis the Season for Love, and love is definitely in the air in Downtown Frederick, so we've asked some of our favorite downtown couples to share their ideal Downtown Frederick Date Night!

Kara and Tom love to spend their date nights in Downtown Frederick. Today they both share with us how they met & fell in love downtown!:

"As a bit of context, Tom and I created the following text for our wedding program - Date: April 28, 2007. At the time we met, Allison, our matchmaker, owned Two Paws Up (Now Paws In The City) and Dulcie, her accomplice, owned Chiffon. Now, nearly nine years later, our family has expanded to include our daughter Nia who loves Downtown Frederick as much as we do.

Kara: I saw Tom around town lots of times, and he caught my eye.
Tom: I never had a chance to talk to Kara, because she always was too busy. Allison introduced us at the first Alive @ Five, but, yet again, Kara had to run off to work.
Kara: I do remember meeting Tom at Alive @ Five.
Tom: I thought Kara wasn't interested in me. She seemed too busy.
Kara: Allison brought Tom along to a merchant Christmas party, but I was surprised with gifts and too distracted to talk.
Tom: Dulcie and Allison talked and decided that I should ask Kara out. I got a call from Allison after she asked Kara and Kara said she would go out with me.
Kara: That was our 9th-grade moment.
Tom: I called Kara to see if she would go to a martini party at Acacia (Now Reina). She said yes.
Kara: Finally a chance to talk to Tom without work getting in the way.
Tom: Next meeting, my surprise birthday party.
Kara: That night Tom was too busy.
Tom: Then our first real date. We've been together ever since.
Kara: We've probably talked to each other every day."

Downtown Frederick Date Night

Hello February!

'Tis the Season for Love, and love is definitely in the air in Downtown Frederick, so we've asked some of our favorite downtown couples to share their ideal Downtown Frederick Date Night!

Karlys and Tom love to spend their date nights in Downtown Frederick. Today they share with us their ideal downtown date!:

Tom and Karlys
"We consider Friday night as the 'Frederick Smile' because you can sense the positive energy all over downtown. Having our 'Date Night' in downtown Frederick is absolutely one of the top priorities in our relationship. Anyone who knows us would agree.

While we stroll along the streets we greet strangers and a lot of friends, plus we drop in to visit shop owners shop owners like Whitney at The Muse (19 N Market St) and Pat at Alicia L (149 N Market St).

Weather doesn't impact us at all. As a matter of fact...sometimes it adds to the adventure of the night.

There's such a diverse selection of restaurants to visit and have a friendly chat with owners/managers such as Phil, Nezih, Aaron and Sherif. Magoos (1 W 2nd St) is like going to "Cheers" for us on our date night. We can be as secluded or as engaged as we like all at the same place. It's our time to unwind, hold hands and 'catch up' about the busy week.

Amazingly, our date night has included a beautiful bouquet of flowers from En Masse (141 N Market St) EVERY Friday night for 14 years! That's 'I LOVE YOU' being said 728 times through flowers.

The renowned locations beyond Frederick just don't even come close to how much we cherish our Downtown Frederick Date Night!"

Happiness in Frederick,
Karlys & Tom "Klynch"

Grab your loved one and head downtown to experience Karlys and Tom's date itinerary for yourself!

Downtown Frederick Date Night

Hello February!

'Tis the Season for Love, and love is definitely in the air in Downtown Frederick, so we've asked some of our favorite downtown couples to share their ideal Downtown Frederick Date Night!

Brianna and AJ love to spend their date nights in Downtown Frederick. Today Brianna shares with us their ideal downtown date!:

AJ + Brianna on the Creek
"AJ and I both grew up in Frederick, and although we love traveling and exploring new places, we always come back to our hometown. We are constantly amazed by the creativity in this town, the great shops, and of course the delicious eats; making downtown Frederick a go-to for a day spent together.  Our ideal day date downtown usually goes something like this....

We always begin at Family Meal (880 N East St.) for the goat cheese omelet, French toast, and delicious coffee. We are suckers for vintage goods, and antiques and so we frequent Venus on the Half Shell (101 E Patrick St.), Canon Hill (111 S Carroll St.), and the Antique Emporium (112 E Patrick St.) anytime we get the time, so that would be our next stop. An afternoon pick me up is very necessary after all that shopping, so definitely a stop in at Cafe Nola (4 E Patrick St.) for the delicious Ninja Turtle latte. Followed by a walk through Carroll Creek with our little 9 month chocolate lab, Blu.

We usually end the day with dinner at one of our favorite restaurants, Lazy Fish (10 E Patrick St.) Sushi (the Philly Roll and the Baltimore Roll are to die for!) and the Beef Bulgogi Noodle dish are our go-to's."
